We are delighted to welcome you to celebrate the 'Olympics of Fracture Mechanics’ - the ‘16th International Conference on Fracture (ICF-16)’ to be held in the vibrant city of Melbourne in Australia from 28 June to 2 July 2027

Structural Integrity for Sustainability & Circular Economy

Founded in 1965, the International Conference on Fracture (ICF) series is organised quadrennially by the premier global organisation - the ‘International Congress on Fracture’. ICF has become a global, trademark event devoted to the mechanics and mechanisms of fracture and strength of solids, facilitating collaboration of international experts about the contemporary developments in fracture mechanics, fatigue, damage tolerance, structural integrity, and allied fields. After 30 years (since ICF-9 in Sydney), the 16th edition of ICF series will return to Melbourne, Australia in 2027.

Major highlights and benefits of participating in ICF-16:

  • Leading Scientific and Engineering Platform: The International Conference on Fracture (ICF) is a top-rated conference series focused on the state-of-the-art topics of fracture, fatigue, damage mechanics, and structural integrity of materials and structures. ICF will feature a distinguished and diverse technical community accompanied by world leading plenary/keynote speakers, where innovative ideas and interdisciplinary cooperations can flourish.
  • Networking, Inclusion and Diversity: ICF promotes inclusivity, knowledge exchange, collaboration, and greater participation from diverse sectors and countries. ICF will offer excellent opportunities for networking, industry engagement, and technical visits to research laboratories, universities, and industries. The registration for ICF is kept quite affordable to encourage broad participation from academia, industry, research, and particularly early career researchers and students worldwide.
  • Excellent Location: You will be delighted with the warmth, cultural diversity and unique attractions that Australia has to offer. Melbourne is consistently rated as one of the world’s most liveable cities and internationally recognized as a major hub for education, research, and innovation, hosting leading universities, research institutions and industries. Its multicultural atmosphere, modern infrastructure, strong international connectivity, and renowned tourism appeal will ensure an unforgettable experience.

We are looking forward to greeting you at ICF-16 in Melbourne in 2027.

Kind regards,

Prof Raj Das
